Marinemaster M-40 Gravity Black on Block bracelet

The “Marinemaster” is Fortis long standing divewatch series, dating back to the 1960s. In 2021, Fortis adds a new milestone to the Marine Master as it redefines the tool watch. A highly functional outdoor tool with upgraded colors and details borrowed from the natural world.

“Marine Master M-40 Gravity Black” has a recycled stainless steel case with a diameter of 40 mm and is water resistant to 30 atmospheres (300 meters). The black dial has an embossed pattern designed from, the shap is the letter “O” of the “FORTIS” logo. The watch is very comfortable, yet roboust. The new Marine Master features Fortis new rotating “Gear Bezel”, one of the the grippiest bezels on the market.
Equipped with a strong crown guard, hands and indexes that glow in the dark, and a comfortable rubber strap, it is highly functional and makes it the perfect outdoor companion.

The watch is powered by a Swiss automatic movement Cal. UW-30 Performance (38 hours power reserve, gold-plated Glucidor balance), chronometer-level precision which runs at 28,800 vibrations. The case is 40mm wide and 12.2mm thick.

Gear BezelTM
The sleek and grippy Gear BezelTM is made from recycled stainless steel with a black PVD finish on the side.

Recycled stainless steel (316L-1.4404)
While regular stainless steel contains some recycled metal, recycled stainless steel (316L-1.4404) is almost entirely recycled steel. Although the quality and appearance are the same when compared to regular steel, Fortis, as a manufacturer with a focus on sustainability, has been using recycled stainless steel starting with its 2021 new products.

Message on the case back
The screw-down recycled steel caseback is engraved with the words “Keine Termine und den Horizont vor Augen” in German (which translates to: A blank schedule and nothing but the horizon). This is an expression of the idea Fortis has put into the new Marine Master: to wear a Fortis watch and experience the sense of freedom that comes with being outdoors and immersing yourself in nature.
