Commonly known as the Tritium Search and Rescue (TSAR). The TSAR is also known as the GSAR Quartz, as it boasts the same capabilities but with a high-torque quartz movement. Marathon Search and Rescue (SAR) watches are developed to Canadian Government requirements for use in professional SAR operations. First introduced in the early 1990s, the SAR Series continues to be an essential kit element for elite members of both the Canadian and U.S. militaries.
