The Seiko 6139 series was actually one of the first automatic chronographs in the market to be launched in 1969 (Let’s not get into a debate on which brand actually launched the first automatic chrono… Was it Seiko, Zenith or Breitling/Heuer?) On top of being one of the first chronographs, it also was the first automatic chronograph movement to go to space in 1973, worn by Colonel William Pogue.
This particular example of 6139-6013 is fitted with a gold dial and a black tachymeter ring. It is worn and comes with scuffs and patina, but it is serviced and runs great – at Sekvens we like watches that you dare to wear instead of keeping in a drawer. So snag it and wear a piece of history.
