In 2018 Seiko introduced the ‘Black Series’ Prospex Limited Edition dive watches. According to Seiko, the Black Series watches are inspired by night diving and are designed for maximum legibility. The 2018 Black Series was made up of 3 models, the SRPC49K1 ‘Turtle’, the SNE493P1 ‘Solar’ and SSC673P1 ‘Solar Chronograph’.
The SRPC49K1 is dubbed the ‘Ninja Turtle’. It features the 4R36 automatic movement which operates at 21,600 bph and has a 41 hour power reserve. The case is coated with “hard black coating” according to Seiko, which translates to ‘DLC’ or ‘PVD’ coating. It also features a screw-down crown and a unidirectional rotating bezel. The dial has tan colored Lumibrite indicies and an orange minute hand. The SRPC49K1 it’s a modern version Seiko’s iconic ‘Turtle’ with a touch of vintage design cues. It’s built like a tank and the black case is a real stunner.
This ‘Full set’ Seiko Prospex SRPC49K1 is in excellent condition. The watch is worn but has no visible dents or scratches on the case or crystal. There are hairlines on the case back. And minor signs of wear on the rubber band.
