The new Modello Uno U1S-PD3 from Unimatic steps up the game in water resistance, and comes equipped with ceramic bezels and updated specs.
Guess what? I’ve just laid my hands on Unimatic’s new Modello Uno U1S-PD3. I’m here to give you a no-frills take on what’s cool about this timepiece.
When you first see it, you might think, “Haven’t I seen this before?” But hold on a minute – even though it’s got that classic Unimatic look, there’s some neat stuff under the hood that’s different. The U1S-PD3 is part of a new ProDiver series that’s got some slick features to dive (pun intended) into.
First off, while the other models have been busy showing off new colors and materials, this new ProDiver is flexing its technical muscles. Yes, it still has that well-known look but with a neat twist. This watch comes with a lume-infused ceramic bezel insert that’s pretty cool. At night, it lights up in a turquoise shade, contrasting the orange glow from the hour markers and hands. It’s like a mini disco on your wrist – check it out further down in this post.
Let’s talk specifics: the U1S-PD3 has a 40mm case and a bezel that’s 41.5mm wide. It’s 11.6mm thick, sits comfortably between your wrist bones, and has a pretty universal lug spacing of 22mm. For the divers or just the accident-prone among us, it’s got a solid water resistance up to 300 meters. Yep, it’s a workhorse.
They’ve also thickened up the sapphire crystal to 2.5mm for this model, and it’s got this slightly raised look that I personally think adds character. And the crown tube? They’ve reworked that to have a double rubber O-ring mechanism, which basically means it’s like Fort Knox against water sneaking in.
For the nerds out there who love the internals, it’s powered by the trusty Sellita SW200-1 b movement (Swiss made as you all know). This thing’s got a power reserve of 38 hours and is as reliable as they come.
But hey, I saved the best for last: the lume. In normal light, it’s all black and white – business as usual. But in the dark, this thing is a light show. The turquoise and orange glow just pops. I know I mentioned it earlier, but I just can’t get over how cool it looks.
Now, for strapping options, it comes with a charcoal-gray rubber strap and an extra charcoal-gray NATO strap in the box. You know, just in case you feel like switching things up. Also Unimatic has a great selection of colorful TPU straps if you want make your wrist pop.
For the price, the U1S-PD3 sits at €1,100 (plus taxes). Given its features and the fact that only 500 pieces are out there, I’d say it’s quite the catch.
So, that’s the U1S-PD3 for you, straight from Sekvens. Whether you’re a dive enthusiast or just someone who loves a good, sturdy watch, it’s a solid choice. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Cheers!
Anders, owner of Sekvens.
