As its name suggests, the Flieger F-43 Bicompax is a chronograph with two subdials arranged horizontally. Based on the idea of developing tools with the functions necessary for pilots, the Fortis Pilot’s Watch has been developed with professionals in mind, further evolving the traditional elements that have been inherited from the first Fortis pilot’s watch since its birth in 1987. The orange elements are apllied to the SYNCHROLINE® line at the 12 o’clock position on the dial, the chronograph second hand, and the register, while the green luminescence is reflected in the familiar sword-shaped hands and Brixtrack®. This provides excellent visibility even in dark places.
The bicompax pushers feature a subtle grid pattern for better grip and feel.It also has a rotating bezel that displays 12 hours with 24 clicks, making it easy to set a second time zone. This rotating bezel is sloped in a conical shape from the outside of the case toward the dial, making it scratch-resistant. This bold chronograph, with its handsome stainless steel case, clear dial design, and high functionality lives up to Fortis motto: “There is no function without design, and vice versa.”
SYNCHROLINE®: Orbit adjustment unit
This refers to the orange fluorescent finish line designed at ±5 second positions on the dial. Whenever pilots form a formation, it is of fundamental importance that they all line up precisely. To achieve this, Fortis has newly devised SYNCHROLINE®. Pilots can now align with their teammates within ±5 seconds.
Brixtrack®: instant visibility
The Brix track is a circular track placed around the outer circumference of the dial, and on top of the track is an applied index that represents the time called Brix, which is coated with Super-LumiNova X1. Improves visibility speed, especially in low light conditions.
Bicombax: two subdials arranged horizontally
The layout in which two sub-dials for displaying small seconds or chronograph minutes are lined up horizontally is called “bicompax” and is a dial layout that was once popular in watch history.
This model features only a minute counter marked with bright orange fluorescent lines, reducing dial complexity and improving overall reading speed.
